1) Let’s find the initial speed of a given body: S = (Vк + Vн) * t / 2, from where we express: Vн = 2S / t – Vк = 2 * 10/2 – 2 = 8 m / s.
2) Calculate the amount of acceleration: a = (Vk – Vn) / t = (2 – 8) / 2 = -3 m / s2.
Check: S = Vn * t + a * t ^ 2/2 = 8 * 2 + (-3) * 2 ^ 2/2 = 10 m (correct).
Answer: The acceleration was -3 m / s2.
