| We know that in the third second from the moment the body was thrown, it reached a height of 5.5 meters. In order to find with what speed the body is thrown, we will apply the formula:

S = v0 * t – (gt ^ 2) / 2 = v0 * t – 5t ^ 2.

Let us calculate what path the body covered at the 3rd and 2nd seconds of the flight:

in 3 seconds the body has passed the path S1 = 3 * v0 – 45;

in 2 seconds, the body has passed the path: S2 = 2 * v0 – 20.

S2 – S1 = 5.5;

Let’s train the equation:

3 * v0 – 45 – 2 * v0 + 20 = 5.5;

v0 – 25 = 5.5;
