The broken line consists of three segments AC, CD and DE. It is known that the segment АС is equal to 3.9 cm and it is less than the segment СD by 1.3 cm and more than the segment DE by 0.7 cm. Find the length of the broken line.

1) Let us find out what is the length of the segment CD of the broken line, if it is known that it is 1.3 cm longer than the segment AC, and the length of the segment AC = 3.9 cm.

3.9 + 1.3 = 5.2 cm.

2) Find out the length of the segment DE of the broken line if it is known that it is 0.7 cm larger than the segment CD, and the length of the segment CD = 5.2 cm.

5.2 + 0.7 = 5.9 cm.

3) Find out the length of the entire broken line consisting of three segments.

3.9 + 5.2 + 5.9 = 15 cm.

Answer: the length of the broken line is 15 cm.
