The capacitor with a capacity of 0.5 μF was charged from a source with a voltage

The capacitor with a capacity of 0.5 μF was charged from a source with a voltage of 4000 V. Determine the average current in the connecting wires if the charging time is 0.1 s.

Let us determine what value the charge will equal, if from the condition of our problem we know for sure that the capacitance of the capacitor was 0.5 μF, the voltage of the charging source is 4000 V:

q = C * U;

0.5 μF = 5 * 10-7 F;

5 * 10-7 * 4000 = 20,000 * 10-7 = 0.002.

Let us determine what value the average current strength will equal if from the condition of our problem we know for sure that the charging time was 0.1 s:

I = q / t;

0.002: 0.1 = 0.02.

Answer: Under such initial conditions, the average current strength will be 0.02 A.
