The chemist had 16 liters of the mixture, 50% of which is water. If you add 4 liters of water to this mixture, how many percent of water will the mixture contain?

Given:
There were 16 liters of mixture;
Of these, 50 percent, that is, 8 liters, contains water;
Now: After adding 4 liters of water, 16 liters (8 liters of solution + 8 liters of water) + 4 liters of water = 20 liters of mixture. Of these, water 8 l + 4 l = 12 liters;
Let’s find how much this percentage is:
100 percent – 20 liters;
x percent – 12 liters;
Then, x = 12 l * 100 percent / 20 l = 12 * 10/2 percent = 12 * 5 = 60 percent.
This means that after 4 liters of water were added to the mixture, the mixture began to contain 60 percent water.
