During the war between Russia and France, great feats were accomplished. The French troops were defeated by Russian soldiers under the command of Mikhail Kutuzov near the town of Maloyaroslavets. This military action completed the series of victories and was the final one for the French. After him, they began a large-scale retreat on all fronts. They had to return along the same plundered Smolensk road. These events allowed Russia to be considered one of the strongest states, since no one could defeat Napoleon’s army.
