The concept of adaptation of an octopus to its habitat

We must start with the habitat. Octopuses live in tropical and subtropical seas. They usually live in the sea at a shallow depth (no more than 150m). The octopuses are home to stones and rocks, less often algae. In this habitat, the enemies of the octopus can be considered dolphins, eels, sharks, whales, seals and sea lions. The octopus feeds on molluscs, snails, small fish and crustaceans.

The mechanisms by which the octopus has adapted to its habitat:

1. Ability to change color to hide from predators and invisibly attack their prey.

2. Soft body that fits easily into any crevices in rocks and rocks.

3. Perception of ultrasound to better navigate in the dark.

4. Secretion of poison for hunting and protection.
