The consequences of the great geographical discoveries: positive and negative.

Negative:

1) The military expansion of the aboriginal open lands;

2) The destruction of the local population by Europeans;

3) The death of most Europeans from disease and hunger.

Positive:

1) The foundation was laid for the development of world trade;

2) The development of new lands began;

3) There was a rise in prices;

4) An impetus for the development of science and scientific research.

In addition, an important consequence of geographical discoveries was the beginning of a new era – the New Age, which replaced the Middle Ages.
