The cyclist and the pedestrian move in opposite directions. The speed of a cyclist is 15 km per hour and a pedestrian is 5 km per hour. How many kilometers will they move from each other in 2 hours?
The solution of the problem:
1. Find out how many kilometers a pedestrian will pass in two hours moving at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour.
5 * 2 = 10 kilometers
2. In the second step, we find the distance that the cyclist will travel in 2 hours at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
15 * 2 = 30 kilometers
3. Let’s calculate how many kilometers they will move from each other in 2 hours.
10 + 30 = 40 kilometers
Answer: For forty kilometers, a pedestrian and a cyclist move away from each other in two hours.
