The cyclist covered 80 m in the first 10 s, and the next 50 m in 5 s. find the average speed in each of the sections and along the entire path.

These tasks: S1 (the length of the first section of the cyclist’s path) = 80 m; t1 (first time of movement) = 10 s; S2 (length of the next section of the path) = 50 m; t2 (second movement time) = 5 s.

1) The speed of the cyclist in the first section: V1 = S1 / t1 = 80/10 = 8 m / s.

2) Speed of movement in the second section: V2 = S2 / t2 = 50/5 = 10 m / s.

3) Average speed: V = (S1 + S2) / (t1 + t2) = (80 + 50) / (10 + 5) = 130/15 = 8.67 m / s.
