The cyclist rode for 2 hours at some speed. After he travels another 4 kilometers, his path will be equal to 30 kilometers. How fast was the cyclist?

We define the required unsettled speed of movement of the cyclist through the conditional variable “Y”.
At the next stage, using the conditions of the problem and applying the formula for the speed, we have the equation: Y x 2 + 4 = 30.
As a result of solving the existing equation, we get 2Y = 30 – 4 or 2Y = 26 or Y = 26/2 = 13 kilometers per hour.
