The deepest Indian Ocean.

The Indian Ocean is generally quite deep. Since the ocean as a whole is not sandwiched between continents, the depth map appears as a single deep belt. In the northern part, in the area of the deltas of the large rivers Indus and Ganges with Brahmaputra, the depth is noticeably less. Shoals are also observed in the Maldives and some other clusters of islands. The greatest depth is observed closer to the Indonesian Islands in the area of collision of lithospheric plates (the so-called Sunda Trench). The maximum depth is 7729 meters.
