Let ABCD be a rhombus, O be the intersection point of the diagonals of the rhombus.
It is known that O bisects the diagonals and the angle AOB is straight.
AO = 8/2 = 4 cm
BO = 6/2 = 3 cm
AB – hypotenuse of triangle AOB
By the Pythagorean theorem, AB = √ (AO * AO + BO * BO) = √ (16 + 9) = √ (25) = 5 cm.
Answer: 5 cm.
