The distance between trains going towards each other is 650 km. The speed of one train is 60 km / h, and the speed of another is 70 km / h. At what distance from each other will the trains be in 8 hours, if after the meeting each of the trains continues to move in the same direction?

1) Let’s calculate the speed of convergence of trains going towards each other:
60 + 70 = 130 km / h.
2) Find out how many hours after their release the meeting will take place:
650: 130 = 5 hours.
3) After the trains meet, they will start moving in opposite directions from the place of their meeting and will move away from each other during:
8 – 5 = 3 hours
4) How many kilometers will one train travel in 3 hours from the meeting point?
60 * 3 = 180 km.
5) How many kilometers will the second train travel from the meeting point in 3 hours?
70 * 3 = 210 km.
6) What will be the distance between trains in 3 hours after their meeting (or in 8 hours from the beginning of their movement towards each other):
180 + 210 = 390 km.
Answer: 390 km.
