The edge of the cube is 4 cm. Find: a) the volume of the cube, i) the surface area of the cube, c) the sum of the lengths of all the edges.
A cube is a regular polyhedron, each face of it is represented by a square, and the edges are equal.
The volume of such a figure is calculated by the formula:
V = a³, we find its value, provided that the length of the edge is 4 cm:
V = 4³ = 64 cm³.
The area of the entire surface of a cube is determined by the formula:
S = 6a² = 6 * 4² = 6 * 16 = 96 cm².
The sum of the lengths of all edges:
L = 12a = 12 * 4 = 48 cm.
