The electric lamp is connected to a 220V network. The current in the lamp is 0.4A. What is the power of the lamp?

The power of any electrical receiver, in our case an electric lamp, will be equal to:

W = U x I,

where U is the voltage across it, and I is the current through it.

We substitute the values into this formula and we get the answer:

W = 220 x 0.4;

W = 88 (W).

Answer: the power of this electric lamp is 88 watts.
