| Consider the equation of motion of a material point in the general case. It is known from the school physics course that it has the form:
x = x0 + v0 * t + a * t ^ 2/2,
in this equation:
x0 – starting coordinate,
v0 – initial speed,
a – acceleration,
t is time.
Let’s compare this equation with the equation given in the conditions of the problem. Comparing, it is easy to see that
a / 2 = 0.2.
From the last equation we find the acceleration a:
a = 0.2 * 2 = 0.4.
Answer: a = 0.4.
