The external structure of the pine.

The common pine is a coniferous tree. The height of the tree reaches from 10 to 40 meters.

The crown diameter can be 10 meters. The slender, straight trunk reaches 1.5 meters in diameter. The bark at the base of the tree is brown. Closer to the top of the tree, the trunk brightens.

Pine needles are thin and hard green, slightly curved. The length of the needles can reach 15 cm, depending on the area where the tree grows. The needles grow in bunches and last for 2-3 years, sometimes up to five years.

Young shoots are light green. In autumn, the needles remain green and do not change color.

Young pine branches in the second year change color to gray-brown.
