| The Hundred Years War has been going on between England and France since 1337, but the last stage belongs to the period from 1428 to 1453. The turning point in the war in favor of France was associated with Jeanne d’Arc. In 1429-1431 the French lifted the siege from Orleans and won several victories.
In 1435 the Burgundians went over to the side of the French. Until 1449, the French army led an offensive from Paris to Rouen, liberating various cities along the way.
In 1453, the English commander Talbot was defeated in Gascony in southwestern France, the city of Bordeaux was surrendered and the war ended there, the British had only the city of Calais on the continent for about 100 more years.
