The force with which the air presses on the earth’s surface and all objects on it is called ….?

Atmospheric pressure is the force with which a column of air pushes against the earth’s surface. Atmospheric pressure depends on how hot the air is. The drier and warmer the air, the lower the atmospheric pressure. Conversely, if the air is cold and saturated with water vapor, the atmospheric pressure will be higher. Due to differences in atmospheric pressure, turbulent flows called wind are generated. Typically, atmospheric pressure is higher above warmed surfaces (Earth’s surface) and less warmed above water surfaces.
