| The frequency of electrical oscillations in the circuit is 1.5 MHz. Determine the inductance of the coil if the capacitance of the capacitor is 300pF.
Initial data: ν (frequency of electrical oscillations in the circuit) = 1.5 MHz; C (capacitor value) = 300 pF.
SI system: ν = 1.5 MHz = 1.5 * 10 ^ 6 Hz; C = 300 pF = 300 * 10 ^ -12 F.
1) Determine the period of electrical oscillations in the circuit: T = 1 / ν = 1 / (1.5 * 10 ^ 6) = 0.667 * 10 ^ -6 s.
2) Let us express from the Thompson formula and calculate the inductance of the coil: T = 2 * Π * √ (L * C); √ (L * C) = T / 2Π; L * C = (T / 2Π) ^ 2; L = (T / 2Π) ^ 2 / C = (0.667 * 10 ^ -6 / (2 * 3.14)) ^ 2 / (300 * 10 ^ -12) = 3.76 * 10 ^ -5 H.
