The function of the yolk in a chicken egg.

The egg has everything necessary for the development of the embryo:
– the shell protects against moisture loss and penetration of microorganisms into the egg;
– the shell envelope at the blunt end departs from the shell and forms an air chamber through which gas exchange is carried out;
– protein provides an aquatic environment;
– the cords, or chalases, hang the yolk so that the embryonic disc is always on top and warms up well;
– The yolk contains a supply of nutrients necessary for building the body of the embryo.
