The greatest discoveries in physics include the discovery of electricity. The founder of the science of electricity in Europe was the English physicist William Gilbert. He investigated magnetic and electrical phenomena, and in 1600 coined the term “electrical”. Also, one of the greatest discoveries belongs to Isaac Newton, who discovered the law of universal gravitation around 1666. Further, in 1836, Michael Faraday discovered the laws of electrolysis. At the beginning of the 20th century, Albert Einstein discovered the special and general theories of relativity, published in 1905 and 1916, respectively.
