| The height of a rectangular parallelepiped is 20 cm, which is 4 cm less than its length and 5 times its width. Calculate the volume of this parallelepiped.
The formula for finding the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped:
V = abc, where a – width, b – length, c – height.
1) Find the length of the parallelepiped:
20 + 4 = 24 (cm) – the length of the parallelepiped;
2) Find the width of the parallelepiped:
20: 5 = 4 (cm) – the width of the parallelepiped.
3) Find the volume of the parallelepiped:
24 × 20 × 4 = 1920 (see cube) – the volume of the parallelepiped.
Answer: 1920 cm cube is the volume of a parallelepiped.
