The historical significance of the revolution in England?

The revolution of the 17th century in England (dated 1642-1651) was essentially the only one in its history, it led to the emergence of a republic on the island, headed by the Lord Protector (Oliver Cromwell), it lasted 10 years. The significance of the revolution was that it dealt a blow to the feudal remnants and contributed to the development of feudalism. The lands of the old feudal nobility were sold out, a new stratum of aristocracy appeared – the Independent nobility. The Revolution also contributed to the passage of the 1651 Navigation Act and the war with Holland, which strengthened the country’s position on the seas.

The king was deprived of financial independence, the church became dependent on parliament.
