The importance of parliament in England.

Parliament in England was originally the organ of power that created a bridge between the common people and the government, that is, the monarch. This was achieved due to the fact that all (or most) of the estates were represented in parliament. This allowed each class to speak out and be sure to be heard.
England became the first country in which the power of the monarch was limited, that is, it moved from an absolute monarchy (absolutism) to an estate-representative monarchy, in which parliament limited the power of the monarch.
