The most numerous group of animals on Earth are insects (arthropods). To date, more than one and a half million representatives are known, and there are more than 10 million different types of insects. And this is not the limit – every year new species are discovered. Insects are divided into two large groups: wingless and winged. They make up eighty percent of all animals that inhabit the Earth. Insects can be found in every corner of the planet, and their sizes are also varied. The largest ones sometimes surpass the smallest ones by a thousand times.
