√ (12 ^ 2 + 9 ^ 2) = √ (144 + 81) = √225 = 15.
Let us determine what the sine of the angle will equal in this case, which is opposite the side equal to 9:
9: 15 = 0.6.
Let’s determine what the cosine of the same angle will equal:
12: 15 = 0.8.
Let’s determine what the tangent of the same angle will equal:
0.6: 0.8 = 0.75.
Answer: The hypotenuse is 15; sine = 0.6; cosine = 0.8; and tangent = 0.75.
