The length and width of the bathroom floor are 3 meters. How many pieces of tiles are required to lay out the floor, if the area of 1 tile is 500 cm2.
The length and width of the bathroom are the same, the bathroom is in the shape of a square. We find the area of the bathroom:
S = a² = 3² = 9 (m²).
The area of one tile is given in square centimeters, translate into square meters:
500 cm² = 0.05 m².
We find the required number of tiles:
9 / 0.05 = 180 (pcs).
