The length of a broken line of three links is 26 cm. Find the length of the third link if the length of the first is 6 cm, and the second and third are the same.
The length of the broken line is equal to the sum of the lengths of all its constituent links. In our case, this is the sum of three links. The length of the first link is known. You can find the total length of the second and third links: 26 – 6 = 20 cm.
Since the lengths of the second and third links are the same, then 20/2 = 10 cm.
