b = a / 3;

b = 9/3 = 3 cm;

P = a + a + b + b = 2a + 2b = 2 (a + b);

P = 2 (9 + 3) = 2 * 12 = 24 cm;

Answer: 24 centimeters is the perimeter of the rectangle.

2.a = 2 dm;

b = 2/3 dm;

P = 2 (2 + 2/3) = 4 + 4/3 = 5 1/3 dm.

Answer: 5 1/3 decimetres is the perimeter of the rectangle.
