The length of one side of an isosceles triangle is 28 centimeters and its perimeter is 80 cm. Find the lengths of the other two sides of the triangle.
An isosceles triangle has 2 sides the same, and the third is different from them
P = 2a + b
Let’s say that we know the side b = 28cm then
P = 2a + 28cm = 80cm
2a = 80cm-28cm
2a = 52cm
a = 26cm
Let us assume that we know the length of the same side a = 28 then
P = 28cm * 2 + b = 80cm
b = 80cm- 56cm
b = 24cm
So the answer is either side a = 26 cm or b = 24 cm
