The middle line of a trapezoid can be calculated by summing its bases and dividing by 2. From here, we find the length of the sum of the bases:
6 = (a + b) / 2, hence
a + b = 6 * 2 = 12.
Now the sum of the bases is known, to find the perimeter, it is enough to add to it the length of the sides, but since the trapezoid is isosceles, you can multiply the length of the side by 2:
12 + 4 * 2 = 12 + 8 = 20.
Answer: the perimeter of the trapezoid is 20.
