First of all, we determine the width of the rectangle, provided that it is 60 dm less than its length, equal to 120 dm:

Since the opposite sides of such a figure are equal, their sum (perimeter) is calculated by the formula:
P = 2a + 2b.

Substitute the measurements and write the expression:

P = 2 * 120 + 2 * 60 = 240 + 120 = 360 dm.

The area corresponds to:
S = a * b = 120 * 60 = 7200 dm².
