| 1) First of all, we will find the value of the width of the rectangle, provided that it is 1/4 of the length equal to 12 cm:
12: 4 * 1 = 3 cm.
2) The perimeter of such a figure is determined by the formula:
P = 2a + 2b = 2 * 12 + 2 * 3 = 24 + 6 = 30 cm.
3) The area of the rectangle is calculated as follows:
S = a * b = 12 * 3 = 36 cm².
