The length of the rectangle is 20 meters 4 cm and the width is 3 times less. Find the side of a square if its perimeter is equal to the perimeter of the given rectangle.

1) Find the width of the rectangle, provided that it is 3 times less than its length, equal to 20 m 4 cm (20 * 100 + 4 = 2004 cm):

2004: 3 = 668 cm.

2) The perimeter of the rectangle is calculated by the formula:

P = 2 * a + 2 * b = 2 * 2004 + 2 * 668 = 4008 + 1336 = 5344 cm.

3) The sum of all sides of the square is determined by the formula:

P = 4a. Since this value is 5344 cm, we express the side:

a = P: 4 = 5344: 4 = 1336 cm or 13 m 36 cm – side of the square.
