| The length of the rectangle is 38 cm. How much will the area of this rectangle decrease if its width is reduced from 30 cm to 25 cm.
S = a * b, where a is the length, b is the width.
First, we find the area of a rectangle with a width of 30 cm:
S = 38 * 30 = 1140 cm2.
Now we find out what is the area of a rectangle with a width of 25 cm:
S = 38 * 25 = 950 cm2.
Further, it is easy to find how much the area of the rectangle has decreased:
1140 – 950 = 190 cm2.
