| The length of the rectangle is a cm and the width is 70% of the length. 1. Find the area of the rectangle. 2. Find the perimeter of the rectangle. Calculate with a = 12 cm.
If the length of the rectangle is a cm and the width is 70% of the length, then the width of this rectangle is:
a * 70: 100 = 0.7a.
So the area of the rectangle is: a * 0.7a = 0.7a ^ 2.
With a = 12 cm, the area is equal to:
0.7a ^ 2 = 0.7 * 12 ^ 2 = 0.7 * 144 = 100.8 cm2.
And the perimeter of the rectangle will be: (a + 0.7a) * 2.
With a = 12 cm, the perimer will be equal to:
(12 + 0.7 * 12) * 2 = 20.4 * 2 = 40.8 cm.
