The flowerbed has a rectangular shape, for such a figure the opposite sides are equal and their sum (perimeter) is calculated by the formula:
P = 2a + 2b.
According to the terms of the assignment, the length is 9 m, and the width = 6 m:
P = 2 * 9 + 2 * 6 = 18 + 12 = 30 m.
The area corresponds to the formula:
S = a * b = 9 * 6 = 54 m².
