| The length of the rectangular parallelepiped is 5 1/3 m, its width is 3/4 of the length, and its height is 9/20 of the width. Calculate the volume of a parallelepiped.
a = 5 1/3 m, b = 3/4 from a, c = 9/20 from b, V -?
1) 5 1/3 * 3/4 = 16/3 * 3/4 = 4 (m) – the width of the parallelepiped;
2) 4 * 9/20 = 9/5 (m) – the height of the parallelepiped;
3) Calculate the volume by the formula V = a * b * c;
V = 5 1/3 * 4 * 9/5 = 16/3 * 4 * 9/5 = 192/5 = 38.4 (m3).
Answer: 38.4 m3.
