Let us express the width of the rectangle from the formula for the area:
b = S / a.
Substituting the known values ​​of the area and length into the formula, we find the width of the site:
b = 270/30 = 9 m.
2) Calculate the perimeter of the playground.
The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of the length and width of the rectangle multiplied by 2.
Let’s write a formula for the perimeter of a rectangle:
P = (a + b) × 2,
P = (30 + 9) × 2 = 39 × 2 = 78 m.
Answer: the perimeter of the sports ground is 78 m.
