Let’s conventionally draw a segment AB.

Find out how Tochi C and D are located.

They are not located as it seems that D is closer to A, and C to B, but vice versa.

This can be explained by writing the sum of the segments AD and CB: AD + CB = 10 + 12 = 22cm.

It is more than AB.

Thus, CD is a superposition of line segments.

And now we will write CD like this: CD = AD + CB – AB = 22 – 15 = 7.
