The main causes of conflicts between Western European countries in the late Middle Ages.

For example, France organized military campaigns in Italy in order to capture its territory or some part of it. The Anglo-Spanish confrontation occurred due to the fact that the countries fought for a trade monopoly in the Atlantic. There were similar confrontations for the trade monopoly in the Baltic. The nature of relations changed only after the great geographical discoveries, when everyone rushed to seize new territories.
