The main differences between a North American colony and a regular colony.

Initially, colonial possessions were organized to pump out money, extract and send natural resources to the metropolis, primarily gold, silver, and spices. Handicraft and industrial goods were brought back from the metropolis. However, in the North American colonies, in view of the wealth of minerals and good land, sheep breeding, the woolen industry and metallurgy developed very quickly. Due to the availability of good scaffolding in the shipyards of New England, they began to build excellent ships. Shipbuilding began to compete even with the English. The industry began to develop rapidly. And this is the main difference between the colonies in America – they soon became self-sufficient in almost all goods. They did not need a metropolis.
