The message about money in different countries.

In the history of mankind, money has played its role for several millennia. In each country, money got its own name. Many have a very short history, while other currencies have been used for centuries. In the twentieth century, paper money became the most widespread. The following table shows the names of currency units around the world.

Now there are 159 currencies in the world, some of which are used by several countries at once, for example, dollars or euros. Recently, the trend of creation of virtual currencies, which are issued not by the central banks of states, but by individuals and companies, has been gaining strength.

A large number of countries, as in the old days, use their own money. For example, in Russia it is the Russian ruble, in Kazakhstan – tenge, in Belarus – Belarusian ruble. Nevertheless, there are states that have abandoned their own money and introduced a currency that is the same for several countries at once. For example, the euro is accepted for payment in different European countries: Austria, Germany, Spain, France and many others.

U.S. dollar
The US dollar is money used to pay for residents of the United States of America. The US dollar is known all over the world. American dollars depicts people who have long been the presidents of this country.
Some other states also call their money dollars, but this is a completely different currency – it looks different and is used only in their own country. For example, in Canada there is the Canadian dollar, in Australia – the Australian dollar, in New Zealand – the New Zealand dollar.

Euro
Euro is money used in 19 European countries. The euro appeared relatively recently – about 20 years ago. Before that, each country used its own currency. For example, in France they paid in French francs, in Germany – in German marks, and in Italy – in Italian lira. Common money was introduced to make it easier for residents of countries to pay with each other.

Pounds
The pound sterling is the currency of Great Britain and some other territories. The name of this money can be translated as “pound of pure silver”, because earlier these coins were minted from this metal.
The Queen of England is depicted on modern banknotes and coins.

Russian ruble
Everyone knows that the Russian ruble is Russia’s money. Rubles are in banknotes and coins. Moreover, coins with denominations less than a ruble are called not rubles, but kopecks.
The banknotes depict the sights of large Russian cities, and on the coins – the coat of arms of the Russian Federation.

Kazakhstani tenge
Kazakhstani tenge is used in Kazakhstan. The name “tenge” comes from ancient small silver coins called “dengue” or “tanga”.
Banknotes are decorated with oriental patterns, images of birds and animals of Kazakhstan, as well as nature and beautiful buildings.

Hryvnia
The Ukrainian currency is called the hryvnia. The name of the grivna comes from the gold jewelry worn around the neck, or on the “nape”. The hryvnia, like the Russian ruble, is divided into 100 kopecks.

Turkish lira
Turkish lira is the currency of Turkey. Images of famous people – scientists, writers and artists are placed on paper lyres.
In many large cities popular with foreign tourists and vacationers, you can pay in dollars or euros.
