The most important directions of Charlemagne’s activity are outlined.

We are talking about the period from 768 to 814. The directions are:
Cultural development, Carolingian Renaissance, cathedral building, chronicle writing.
Domestic policy: the new capital in Aachen, the construction of a palace there, the creation of stamps under the control of the margraves, the receipt of the imperial crown.
Foreign policy: a successful war in the east with the Saxons, as well as with the Bavarians, Western Slavs, Avars, with the Byzantines for Dalmatia, the defeat of the Lombards in Italy, moving south beyond the Pyrenees towards Barcelona (ousted the Arabs).
