The number of tissue types in the body of animals

In the body of animals, there are four types of tissue: epithelial, connective, muscle and nervous. Epithelial tissue stretches the outer surfaces of the organs, is the basis of the skin epithelium. Nails, hair, dermis are created from it. A special type of epithelial tissue is ciliated epithelium, it is extremely sensitive and is located in the nasal sinus. Thanks to him, foreign bodies are removed from the nasal cavity. Connective tissue is the foundation of the entire organism. It is the most diverse – liquid (blood, lymph), solid (bones), thick (fat, tendons), fibrous (joints). Muscle tissue in an animal organism is of three types: striated (these are skeletal muscles with which we can move the body in space), smooth (autonomous muscle tissue, regulates the activity of organs; does not depend on the will of the creature) and cardiac. Nerve endings, the spinal cord, and the brain are formed by the nerve tissue. This tissue consists mainly of neurons – special cells that can excite impulses and transmit them through their body.
