First of all, we will find the length of a rectangular area, provided that its width is 22 m, and the perimeter is 144 m, expressing it through the formula:
P = 2a + 2b.
2a = 144 – 2 * 22 = 144 – 44 = 100,
a = 100: 2 = 50 m.
We calculate the area by the formula:
S = a * b = 22 * 50 = 1100 m².
