The perimeter of a triangle is 20 cm, its two sides are equal to each other and the third, the smaller one, is 4 cm. What is the length of the equal sides?
1) We find out the length of two equal sides, if it is known that the perimeter of the triangle is 20 cm, and the third is the smallest and is 4 cm.
20 – 4 = 16 cm.
2) Find the length of each side if it is known that they are equal to each other and their total length is 16 cm.
16/2 = 8 cm.
Answer: the length of two equal sides is 8 cm.
