The perimeter of a triangle is 36 cm, the length of one of its sides is 7/18 of the perimeter, and the length of the second 3/7 of the length of the first side. Find the sides of the triangle.

1) Find the length of the first side of the triangle.

We multiply the perimeter of the shape by the given part, namely 7/18.

Will be:

36 * 7/18 = 2 * 7 = 14 cm.

2) Determine the length of the second side.

Since it is 3/7 of the length of the first side, its value will be:

14 * 3/7 = 2 * 3 = 6 cm.

3) Find the sum of the first and second sides.

14 + 6 = 20 cm.

4) Determine the length of the third side of the triangle.

To do this, subtract the sum of the 1st and 2nd sides from the perimeter of the figure.

Will be:

36 – 20 = 16 cm.

Answer: 14, 6 and 16 cm.
